Leadership is all about consciously influencing something to get it in motion, to get something done. How we react to certain situations is the key question, and to answer that question, we usually have to take a breath and look for our keychain. Where did I leave my keys? This book from Gabriël Anthonio describes that moment of not knowing, the hesitation, and searching. A book about looking for the right key, a key that fits and works. The key that will open up your future or with which you can close the past. True key stories The Leader’s Keys features stories based on true events, observations, and a dozen key conversations. Life lessons that Gabriël Anthonio shares with people who, like him, are searching for good leadership. People that are able to be amazed, are curious, and are able to develop themselves. A book for leadership development Are you looking for the next step in your leadership development? Do you wish to inspire others in new ways? This book will show you long-lost keys to open the doors that were previously closed. Perhaps you will find an old key to close some business from the past. Gabriël Anthonio (1963), is chairman of the board of VNN (North Netherlands Addiction Care). In addition to his work as a manager, he lectures at the NHL-Stenden College and is an extraordinary professor at the RUG (University of Groningen) in leadership, organizational development, and sustainability. He started his career working with teenage dropouts in crisis shelters and on the streets, then held various management positions in, among others, a youth institution, a detention center, and in youth care. A common thread in his career is helping organizations in crisis get back on their feet. Anthonio puts leadership development into practice and inspires others to come along on his journey. Gabriël Anthonio is a sought-after speaker at seminars, conferences, and in organizations, where he shares his ideas, theory, and practices. He appeals to directors and managers, as well as to the employees in the workplace. “I want to demythologize leadership, take off its halo and open it up to everyone.” |

‘One year after the publication of The Mirror for Princes, Gabriël Anthonio has written a sequel in which he shares ten wonderful stories about ten keys to (personal) leadership. The book is well-written and practical, and with its metaphorical and narrative style, Anthonio’s book isn’t just interesting for leaders who are facing complex situations. Everyone can benefit from the idea of encountering many doors we can either open or close. Our own keychain says something about which keys we need in certain situations, and which we don’t. The book makes you more aware of our relationship with our environment and ourselves.’
